Step-by-Step: Connect Parseur to Clay

Connecting Parseur to Clay uses Clay's native Monitor Webhook and Parseur's real-time webhook export. Once configured, every document Parseur processes sends structured data to your Clay table as a new row.

Step 1: Forward Your Documents to Parseur

Each Parseur mailbox has a dedicated email address. Forward a sample email or PDF to it. The document appears in your mailbox within seconds, including any attachments.

Set up an auto-forwarding rule in Gmail or Outlook to handle new incoming documents automatically.

Step 2: Parseur Extracts the Data Automatically

For example, Parseur could parse a lead email into fields such as first name, last name, email, company, job title, and phone number. You can then send these fields to Clay as structured data.

Step 3: Create a Webhook in Clay

  1. In your Clay workbook, click + Add at the bottom.
  2. In the Create new table dialog, search for Webhook and select it.
  3. Copy the URL shown under the URL tab. This is the endpoint Parseur will send data to.
  4. Under Send response as, select JSON to receive structured data from Parseur.
  5. Optional: Click + Add auth token to generate a bearer token. Copy it immediately. Clay shows it only once. Note the header key: x-clay-webhook-auth.

Note: Webhook sources are limited to 50,000 submissions on most plans. Once you reach that limit, create a new webhook to keep receiving data.

Step 4: Configure the Webhook in Parseur

  1. In Parseur, open your mailbox → ExportWebhook tab → New webhook.
  2. Paste the Clay webhook URL as the Target URL.
  3. If you set an auth token in Clay, add a custom header in the Headers field: x-clay-webhook-auth: <your token>. If you skipped the token, leave this field blank.
  4. Trigger event: Select Document processed to send one record per document. Select Table item processed only if you want each line item to become a separate Clay row.
  5. Optionally add a Name to identify this webhook later.
  6. Click Create.

Step 5: Test the Integration

Reprocess an already-parsed document in Parseur to trigger the webhook. Reprocessing does not consume credits, so you can repeat it freely. Check your Clay table. The extracted fields should appear as a new row within seconds.
